Almost 40 years on I still have nightmares about being attacked by a clown
DEAR DEIDRE: A MAN dressed as a clown attacked my friendâs father when I was a kid and it caused me to have nightmares.
I donât even know what they were arguing about but I remember my friendâs dad lying on the floor with blood all over his face.

I was six at the time and I have had a deep-rooted fear of clowns ever since.
My wife knows nothing about it. We are both 47.
My wifeâs parents moved to a smaller house recently and, as a result, they have been offering us things they no longer need.

They cleared out their loft last week and my father-in-law arrived with a box full of ornaments from my wifeâs childhood years.
I opened the box and was horrified to see a few clown faces looking up at me.
I let out a yell and was literally shaking. My father-in-law just laughed at me.
The nightmares are starting to come back. I donât want these things in the house.
DEIDRE SAYS: These may seem like inanimate objects to most but they take you right back to when you were six.
Come clean to your wife and tell her why you donât want these things in your home. If she doesnât want to let go of them, suggest that they are stored elsewhere.
