On July 19 around 8 a.m., Toronto Police say a group of people were in the area of the boat launch when two men got into a fight.

One of the men â€" 46-year-old Steven Mitchell â€" “made his way to a hospital for a head injury” and was in critical condition.

The following day, Nate Hill, 37, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

On Saturday, Hill’s charge was upgraded to manslaughter after the death of Mitchell.

Police are asking anyone who was at Bluffers Park or the marina area between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. on July 19 to contact police at 416-808-7400, or call Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Mitchell is the city’s 44th homicide victim of the year.
